Datadog
Last updated: Nov 3, 2026
Datadog is the primary observability tool of Fluid Attacks. Fluid Attacks sends the logs, metrics, and traces of its products to Datadog for deeper analysis, monitoring, and visualization.
These are the primary reasons why Fluid Attacks selected it and not other alternatives:
- It is a mature product with much documentation and good technical support for customers.
- It puts many of the tools of Fluid Attacks in one solution (bug-tracking system, alerts, custom dashboards, and more).
- It is a product that changes continuously and adds new features frequently, for example, Cloud SIEM or Kubernetes monitoring.
- It has many methods to show information. Thus, it is easier to find problems and patterns.
- It has many integrations with cloud providers and third-party applications.
Alternatives
Fluid Attacks examined other observability tools:
- Bugsnag: Fluid Attacks used it primarily as a bug-tracking system. Fluid Attacks moved this function to Datadog Error Tracking to centralize its tools.
- LogRocket: Fluid Attacks used it primarily for real-user monitoring. Fluid Attacks moved this function to Datadog Real User Monitoring to centralize its tools.
- Atatus: It is a less expensive alternative and it is easier to use. During the trial, Fluid Attacks stopped because Atatus did not support log observability and K8s infrastructure monitoring. Also, it did not have compliance features, for example, a Cloud SIEM or a bug-tracking system.
- Coralogix: It is a less expensive alternative and it is easier to configure. During the trial, it was hard for developers to use Coralogix, it did not have sufficient integrations, and the dashboards did not help much. Also, it did not have compliance features, for example, a Cloud SIEM or a bug-tracking system.
- New Relic: It is similar to Datadog. Its cost model is not easy to understand, and it includes a price for each user. Also, its support for asyncio was very bad when Fluid Attacks moved to Starlette.
Usage
Fluid Attacks uses Datadog for these items:
- Indexed logs, custom metrics, and platform tracing
- Custom dashboards and monitoring rules
- SLOs and alerts
- Bug-tracking system
- Real User Monitoring
- Infrastructure monitoring
- Cloud SIEM to find threats from third-party sources
- Compliance
