Google Workspace

Rationale

Google Workspace is the primary productivity and collaboration tool of Fluid Attacks.

These are the primary reasons why Fluid Attacks selected it and not other alternatives:

  • It is an all-in-one solution that gives many important features, for example, email, calendar, chat, meetings, and cloud storage.
  • It is fully web-based. Thus, users do not have to install more software, and the cloud always keeps the latest version of all the information.
  • Most persons know it, because services like Gmail and Drive are very popular for personal use.
  • It integrates with Okta. Thus, Fluid Attacks keeps authorization centralized.

Alternatives

Fluid Attacks examined this alternative, but it did not select it for these reasons:

Microsoft Teams: For many of its functions, users had to download software to their computers. Thus, the information was in many locations, because employees could download files, edit them locally, and not upload them to the cloud again. The user experience was bad, because basic operations, for example, to share a directory, were not intuitive. It was a little less expensive.

Usage

Fluid Attacks uses Google Workspace for these tasks:

  • Email (Gmail)
  • Chat (Google Chat)
  • Calendar (Google Calendar)
  • Analytics (Google Analytics)
  • Cloud storage and documents (Google Drive)
  • Meetings (Google Meet)
