Rationale

Anthropic provides artificial intelligence capabilities that power AI-assisted remediation guides and fixes.

The main reasons why we chose it over other alternatives are the following:

• It performs well in complex code analysis and generation tasks.
• It has ample documentation, prompt engineering guides and examples to improve results.
• Its models are available through Amazon Bedrock, which allows us to use centralized security controls, guardrails and a unified API.
• It provides enterprise security and privacy controls.

Alternatives

The following alternatives were considered:

OpenAI

OpenAI also provides capable artificial intelligence models and is used for other workloads. For the use cases supported by Anthropic, its integration with Amazon Bedrock provides the controls we require.

Self-hosted open-source models

• This option implies high maintenance costs.
• It lacks access to proprietary capabilities.

Usage

We use Anthropic through Amazon Bedrock to power custom and suggested vulnerability fixes and other artificial intelligence capabilities.
